A Wedding Card

Hi there,
I'm back today sharing a wedding card I recently completed for my nephew's wedding. As I'm writing this, the card is winging its way to South Africa (albeit a bit late) LOL

The stamp is by Tiddly Inks. I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black, and used Copics to colour it. I followed this Kit & Clowder tutorial (by Alyce Keegan) for the colouring.

I absolutely adore this image! It is super cute and just perfect!

Thanks for popping in!

Hello There

Well hi there and welcome back!
I know things have been very quiet on the blog front but I'm back today with some very exciting news! My friend Jody from Treasured Times Rubber Stamps & Scrapbooking has asked me to be on her DT and I have accepted. So without any further delay, here are two projects I created with some of Jody's stamps:

The angels were designed by Karen Strubel and is entitled "United We Stand". This is available as a clear rubber stamp.  I decided to use the images to decorate some treat boxes (which I cut out using my brand new Silhouette Cameo).
I coloured the angels with Copic markers and added ribbon, twine and buttons.

For this box I fussy cut the stars and overlapped them before gluing them together.

I also created a set of small notecards, using a stamp designed by Terrye French entitled
'Pot of Swirley Flowers':

I stamped the notecards using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used my Copics to colour the image. I also sponged some Tim Holtz distress ink over the background. Lastly, I added some Stickles in green, red and blue before mounting the images on some BoBunny paper (Alora Collection).

Thanks for popping in!

A Mixed Bag

Hi there and welcome back!

Today, I have various projects to share with you and I may as well get into it straight away!

My first project goes back to Easter, and I used some of the latest Easter stamps by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. The set I used is entitled 'Easter Blessings'. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured the image using Copic Markers. The background is sponged with Tim Holtz distress inks in 'Tumbled Glass' and 'Peeled Paint'.

The following two creations were made with the 'Wild About You' stamp set by GinaK Designs. This stamp set is one of my all time favourites and I can't use it enough! I copied Theresa Momber's background technique, sponging the sun and the other colours using various Memento inks. Lastly, I stamped the tree and the giraffe images in Memento Tuxedo Black. The burlap twine is from my stash and the button and trinket accompany the BoBunny 'Zoology' collection.

A while ago, a friend asked me to make a Bob the Builder card for a great nephew's 4th birthday, and this is what I've come up with:

I printed a BTB colouring sheet onto Xpressit Copic Blending Card and coloured Bob and Pilchard using Copic markers. I sponged the background using a cloud die cut and some distress ink. After fussy-cutting them, I mounted Bob using an Action Wobble and added googly eyes to both images.
I cut the tree (leaves part) and the grass with cloud and grass dies by My Favourite Things. The tree trunk is paper-pieced and stamped with the 'Home Is' stamp set by GinaK Designs (illustrated by Tami Mayberry).
I also added glossy accents to Bob's hat, belt buckle and tools.

Lastly, I'd like to show you my entry for this week's Mix it up Monday Challenge over on StampTV. My friend Lee is our host this week, and she challenged us to either create or re-make a box project and add something with wings. I've had these little hexie boxes sitting in my craft cupboard for a while now and they are ideal!! For this project, however, I forgot to add the 'wings' element :( but its cute anyway!

I used the 'Sweet Strawberries' stamp set by GinaK Designs and combined it with Gina's 'Berries and Vines' DP. I stamped the strawberries using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them with Copic markers. The red card is 'Red Hot' also by GinaK.
I cut the hexie shapes for the lid using a set of hexagon dies by the Sweet Stamp Shop. For the sides I measured and cut the paper and card with my paper cutter.
The swirls were punched with my wave flourish punch and the ribbon, pearls and tulle are from my stash. I also added Stickles in 'Fruit Punch'.

Although these boxes are really small, they are ideal for small little gifts! Think Mother's Day! Here are some gift ideas:

If your Mum is crafty:

If your Mum has a sweet tooth:

I ended up creating another little box for the Mix it up Monday Challenge, using the butterfly image from the 'Nature's Greeting' stamp set by GinaK Designs, paired with the Parisian Garden DP:

Thanks so much for popping in and leaving some love!

Hello there!

Hi there and welcome back!
Yes, I know things have been very quiet on the blog front but alas that goes with the territory of trying to run a household, work part-time and try and upskill on the side! LOL I've had very little crafty time lately and the projects are piling up (not to mention the pent up craftyness).
Anyhow, I have a couple of projects to show you today. The first one is a girly card I made using the 'Thank You' digi from Saturated Canary:

I seriously loooove the digi! She is super cute! I coloured her with Copic Markers and added some Stickles and Glossy Accents. The ribbon is from the Ribbon Carousel and the flowers are from my stash.

For my next project I had to think outside the square. I also entered these into Paper piecing challenge over on StampTV. I used a butterfly stamp from the StampTV Spring Silhouette Kit. After stamping the butterflies, I fussy cut each one and then cut the wings off the butterflies and turned them into flower petals instead.

Lastly, I added some Stickles and rhinestones from my stash.

Thanks for popping in! I'm hoping to show you some layouts in the not too distant future!
Hugs,
M

Newest Creations

Hi there,

Welcome back! This week I'm showcasing a range of recent creations. At the moment I'm just creating as I have time and as inspiration hits. As a family, we've had a very busy and stressful 4 months and at the moment I'm taking the time to have a breather and just create for the fun of it.

My first card is a little pink donkey I've had sitting on my computer for ages! I'm so pleased that I printed her out and had a go at colouring her. I love the final result so much, that I printed another one and turned that into a little blue donkey LOL. These images are by Meljen's Designs and they are super cute for that perfect baby card!

I coloured both donkeys with Copic Markers. And cardstock are all from GinaK Designs.
The DP for the pink donkey is a little scrap from my stash.
The DP for the blue donkey is from the 'A Boy's Life' collection by Echo Park.
The salmon coloured ribbon is Crushed Silky Ribbon by the Ribbon Carousel and the blue twine is by The Twinery.
All the other embellishments are from my stash.

I've also been very busy making thank you cards for a number of people, and have been inspired by one of Melanie Muenchinger's latest creations (click on the link to visit Melanie's blog and see her fab tutorials):

Again, all cardstock are by GinaK Designs.
The image and sentiment are from the 'Nature's Greetings' set by GinaK Designs and were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.
I used Copic markers to colour the images and added stickles to the centre of each flower.

Lastly, I just had to use this Fairytale Princess digi image by Saturated Canary. This image reminds me of all the fairy tales I read as a child and I'm entering it into this week's challenge #39  "Read All About It". I'm also entering this card into this month's challenge over at the Ribbon Carousel (RCC #78 - Spring).

Cardstock is by GinaK Designs. The DP is from the 'Lost & Found 3' collection by My Mind's Eye.
I coloured the princess using Copic markers and added stickles to her dress. I cut out the image using my Cuttlebug and a circle die by Spellbinders. I sponged some TH distress ink in Faded Jeans around the image.
The ribbon is by the Ribbon Carousel.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Happy Valentine's!

Hi there,
Welcome back! Yes, its weekend again and somehow the weeks seem to fly by! I'm back today, sharing my creation for this week's challenge over at The Outlawz Challenges (Paper a la Mode Team). This week, your challenge is to create something with either the word 'Love' or heart shapes somewhere on it. Since Krista Smith from Saturated Canary had a fabulous freebie digi last week, I decided it would be ideal for this challenge! (I'm also entering this card into the Saturated Canary Challenge #36 as well as the MarkerPop Challenge #15) Please hop over to Saturated Canary and visit Krista's shop - she'll love having you. Be prepared though to fall in love with her art!! LOL

I coloured this little lady, using Copics and sponged the edge with Tim Holtz distress ink in Spun Sugar. The card base is GinaK Designs pure luxury in Kraft and the DP layers are all from the Paris Girl pack by Carta Bella. I added stickles, pearlies, glossy accents and the love charm from my stash, and oh yes, the ribbon .... need I say more .... as always its the Silky Crushed Ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel (you'll see me use this ribbon LOTS over the next few weeks, or however long it takes to run out! LOL) I used my wave flourish punch for the flourishes.

Thanks so much for popping in. Don't forget to come back tomorrow, as I'll be sharing my creation for this week's Purple Challenge with Eclectic Ellapu!

Hugs,
M

PS: I'm super stoked that this card has been chosen for the Friday Fabulous Find by the Ribbon Carousel! Woohoo!

Hello Kody!

Hi there,
I'm back today to tell you about a stamp company I recently discovered: Some Odd Girl Stamps. Boy are their stamps CUTE! I purchased two digis to play with, and would love to share my first attempt with you:

This little guy is super-cute and his name is Rockin' Kody. You can find him in the shop under characters (click on Kody). When I saw this image, I knew it would be perfect for a teenage-boy card! I coloured him with Copics. The DP are all from the 'Generation' paper tablet by Little Yellow Bicycle.

Thanks for looking! I'll be back soon to share what I've done with the other image.

Toodles!

Its almost February ...

Hi there,
Welcome back to this week's post! Gosh, it felt like it was New Year just yesterday and its almost February already! Well, I had to hurry to get my entry in for the January challenge over at the Ribbon Carousel!

This month's challenge is 'Winter Spirit' (RCC76) and this is what I've come up with:

The DP is Echo Park's 'Winter Park' and the cardstock is GinaK pure luxury heavy based in white.
The image is from the Penny Black 'Mimi's Christmas' set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Copics.
I cut the image out using my Spellbinders Circles and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz d/i in Peacock Feathers.
The Crushed silky ribbon and net ribbon are from the Ribbon Carousel. I punched circles from the net ribbon using a circle punch, to mimic the snowflakes.
The button is from the BoBunny 'Father Christmas' range.
I added Stickles and Pearlies from my stash.

My project for this week's Paper a la Mode team over on The Outlawz Challenges happen to be some scrapbooking pages as it fits perfectly with the 'Anything Goes' theme. The Teenager went off to a sleepover on Friday morning, which gave me ample time to just sit and create until late at night. I dabble with scrapbooking from time to time but don't always have time for it (or the space on my craft desk!).
Since spotting the new Echo Park 'For the Record 2' range a couple of months ago, I've been collecting all the bits and pieces in the range and I've been using the 6x6 papers in my card making but decided on using the 12x12 sheets for scrapbooking because I just love it so much!
I'm really pleased with the end result!

Thanks for popping in!

New Creations

Hi there and welcome back!

Today I'm sharing this week's creations:

This week's Mix it up Monday challenge over on StampTV is to create tags. I created these four tags to accompany various gifts. Tags are so versatile and can often replace a card. Plus, they are perfect for using those little scraps you can't bear to throw away!

I created the following projects for the Paper a la Mode Challenge team over on The Outlawz Challenges:

This box frame project was made for a friend, and I used various MFT dies and stamps by GinaK Designs. I really love how it turned out!
This challenge card is for this week's 'Bright Colours' challenge.
(I'm seriously in love with that Silky Crushed Ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel!!)

Last but not least, this is my take on the 'Special Birthday' Challenge for the Purple Team over on Eclectic Ellapu.

Thanks for popping in!
See you soon!

M
