Sweet Stamp Shop March Challenge #2

Hi there,
I'm back again with another entry for the Sweet Stamp Shop March Challenge.

This is my entry using the Sweet Spring stamp set:

Both the image and the sentiment are from the same set and stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the lambie twice, fussy cut both and mounted the one on top of the other with foam dots. I also used liquid applique on the top lamb to create more texture. The cardstock is GinaK Designs pure luxury in White and the pink & white DP is Echo Park (Happy Days). The Twine is from Timeless Twine.

Thanks for looking!

'Art Deco' Creations

Hi again,
I decided to use two of my 'Art Deco' stamps to create the next two cards. Both images are available from Hastings Rubber Stamps. For the pink card, I used Tim Holtz distress ink in Tattered Rose to distress the background paper and I coloured the image with Copics. The pink seam binding ribbon is from The Cat's Pajamas.

For the lavender card, I coloured the image with copics. The background DP is from the GinaK Designs 'Parisian Garden' pack. Both images are mounted onto GinaK pure luxury ivory cardstock and for the lavender card I also used the lavender and purple cardstocks.

Here are the links to some of the companies I mentioned:

My Newest StampTV Challenge Entries

Hi there,
I'm back again with my newest challenge entries. The first card I made for Cat's Free for all Friday challenge, CASEing the lovely Lee Murphy! (This challenge ended on Friday)
This is Lee's card:

This is my take on it:
The image, sentiment, DP, cardstock and ribbon are all from the latest StampTV Petals & Wings kit. I paper-pieced the birdies using some pink cs.

The latest STV Free for all Friday challenge is hosted by Sean and is titled "Begin Again with Spring". The challenge is to create a Spring themed card, including the following:
  1. Traditional bright and spring colors.
  2. Layering to add some dimension.
  3. Bling to add a little flash.
The image is from the Falling for You StampTV Kit. The green c/s, white & green dp and green ribbon are from the new Petals & Wings StampTV Kit. The green on the right is a little scrap from my stash.

My last card is for this week's StampTV Mix it up Monday challenge titled "Welcome Spring", hosted by Miesje Flach. The challenge is to create a Spring-themed card.

This is my entry:
The image is from the Whimsical Spring StampTV Kit. The DP is from the newest Petals & Wings StampTV Kit. I downloaded and printed the StampTV Sketch Book (found under the Freebies tab) and used sketch STVSKSP16 for this card's layout. The sketch book is a great resource and its so good to have all that inspiration on hand! Thanks again Gina!

StampTV March Facebook Challenge

Hi there,
I'm back again with my entry for the StampTV March Facebook Challenge. This month, Lee asked us to create a card with a different shape. No square or rectangular cards! Since I wanted to make a thank you card, I decided that I may as well use my oval nesties this time. My newest StampTV kit: Petals & Wings also arrived this week and I couldn't wait to use the new stamps.

The images in the new kit are really, really cute! I couldn't resist making a matching envelope with the Petals and Wings DP. Because my card is oval, I had to change the 4x4 envie template slightly. I placed the 6x6 paper on my Scorpal as per Gina's video and scored 3 of the sides on the 8. I had to score the 4th side on 8.5 as I needed just a little bit of extra space due to the oval shape of the card. The envelope is therefore more rectangular than square. Because of the one side being slightly longer, the flap at the back doesn't overlap when you close the envie, so I used the ribbon to tie around the top to keep it closed.

GinaK March Release Challenge #7 - 4x4 Card with Matching Envelope

Hi Guys,
I'm back again today with my entry for the GinaK. March Release challenge #7. For this challenge you had to create a 4x4 card with matching envelope. I decided to use GinaK's newest range 'Wisteria Lane' DP and matching cardstock for my project. I also turned my card and envelope at an angle, instead of keeping it the standard square.

(I must apologise for the dark photo! It has been raining over here since Monday morning and I've tried taking pictures in different parts of the house where I can find the best lighting. Usually the dining room is the best because of the all the windows but it's so overcast outside that they still come out dark!)

I used my Spellbinders Labels 16 dies for the card and the layers on the card and envie. The sentiment is from the GinaK 'Bold & Beautiful' stamp set and I stamped it in Memento Rich Cocoa.

GinaK March Release Challenge #4 - Cracked Glass

Hi Guys,
I'm back again with another challenge entry for the GinaK March Release. This time I'd like to showcase my attempt at the Cracked Glass Challenge. I didn't have any UTE, but instead used Ranger crackle paint. This technique always reminds me of my grandmother's very old and delicate china, with spidery cracks everywhere. I LOVE how this card turned out and even took a close-up pic for you to see. While the crackle paint was wet, I spritzed the image with gold glimmer mist for extra effect.

Here is a picture of the finished card:

The image from the the GinaK 'Bold & Beautiful' stamp set and I created the background using the ink to paper technique with a Memento dew drop ink pad in Cantaloupe. The DP is from the GinaK Sundance paper pack.

GinaK March Release Challenges

Hi Guys,
I'm back again this week with some entries for the recent GinaK March Release challenges. My first project is a card I made for challenge #10- using the letterpress technique. I purchased this particular Spellbinders Impressabilities (Fleur de Lis) almost a year ago and wasn't sure what to do with it. Luckily Gina has a fabulous technique video showing you step by step instructions! The sentiment is from the GinaK Designs "Bold & Beautiful" stamp set.

My next project is for challenge #9 - distressed newspaper. I made another sympathy card using this technique. The sentiment for this card is from the GinaK Designs "He is Risen" stamp set. I used Memento London Fog for the distress part and highlighted the 'veins' in the newspaper using Memento Tuxedo Black.

The third card is for challenge #5 - 'emerging butterflies'. I chose the "He is Risen' stamp set by GinaK Designs and used the verse on the background with the cross image clear embossed over the top for a really beautiful Easter themed card. I really love the colours on this card!

My last project is for challenge #2 - sponging a layer. I've used this technique many times before and really love the clean, simple lines it creates. This technique produces a beautiful CAS card! the image and sentiment are both from the GinaK 'Whimsical Spring' stamp set. You can't see it in the picture, but I spritzed the card with gold glimmer mist for a final touch.

Thanks for looking and leaving awesome comments! I'm hoping to have another post for you within the next day or two.
Hugs,
M

A Sweet Boy ...

Hi Again,
I'm back today, sharing a scrapbook page I completed a couple of weeks ago. Some of you may know that scrapbooking was my 'first papercraft love' before I discovered card making. I still scrapbook from time to time, especially when I've lost a bit of mojo with my card making, but would like to create something! I'm slowly going through all my boy's photos, and scrapbooking some of them as the creative 'urge' hits me LOL!
I came across a photo of The Boy I took the day he lost his first tooth. Quite a milestone don't you agree? Gosh, as babies they hardly sleep when they're teething and before you know it, those teeth fall out to make space for new ones!
I chose two stamp sets from the Sweet Stamp Shop: Sweet Alpha Doodles and Sweet Tooth. I wanted a CAS (clean and simple) layout and matted the photo onto white and then black cardstock.
That's all for today, do check back again soon as I'll be sharing my StampTV challenge entries with you over the next few days.
Hugs,
M

I'm Back!

Hi there and welcome back!
Yes, I know it's been a while since my last post but what can I say? Life gets CRAZY sometimes! LOL I've been busy though and have a few creations I'd like to share with you today.
The first two are altered journals I made for two friends from church. They saw my journal (you can see it in this post), and asked if I was able to make more for them. I actually made three but the third one was beautifully wrapped before I realised that I never took a picture of it!

The butterfly image on the left is from the Gina K. Whimsical Spring stamp set and the flower image on the right is also from Gina K. but the True Love stamp set. These journals are really good for using up all those little scraps of DP you don't want to get rid of.

The next item is a card I made for our pastor and his wife, who have gone to the US for a month. We wanted to wish them safe travels and I chose the bunny stamp from The Cat's Pajamas.

I stamped the image in Versamark ink and heat embossed it using black embossing powder. I tried stamping in black and using clear embossing powder but found that the black ink dried too fast for the embossing powder to stick properly. I coloured the bunny's nose and the inside of his goggles, but wanted to leave the rest black and white.

The last two items are get well cards for two ladies at church who have had surgery. I really like that flower image from the Gina K. True Love stamp set! I think it's the clean lines and you can literally colour it any which way you like and it always comes out beautifully! I started the black, white and yellow card for last week's Mix it up Monday challenge over on StampTV but didn't get around to finishing it in time to enter. I love combining one other colour with black and white and paired it with pink in the second card.

Well, thanks for looking! Don't forget to hop over to StampTV as Gina and the lovely DT ladies are unveiling their latest release today!
See you soon!
Hugs,
M
PS: I haven't put any deets in this post but if you'd like to know anything about any of the products I used, please leave a comment and I will get back to you ASAP! :)
