The Outlawz - 'Tempus Fugit' Time Flies

Hi there,
I'm back this week with the latest challenge for the Paper a la Mode Team over on The Outlawz Challenges. This week my Teamies and I would like to challenge you with a project around 'Time'.  A couple of weeks ago I popped into one of my local stationery stores to see what notebooks they had in stock. I chanced upon 2 notebooks on clearance, and since they already had little pockets on the front, I snapped them up and decided to alter them by adding bits and pieces.

The DP is from the latest range by Echo Park entitled "For the Record". In addition to the set I used, there is als a pink/green/yellow version and I can't wait to use the pink version. The range also include matching chipboard embellishments as well as a set of brads. I cut the tags using a tag template I had in my stash and added the DP, chipboard and pearls, flowers and ribbon from my stash.

Thanks for looking!
Hugs,
M

The Outlawz - Celebrating the end of Summer

Hi there,

This week's challenge on The Outlawz' Paper a la Mode team is to create something 'Travel Inspired' to celebrate Labour Day and the end of Summer. I've had this little stamp set sitting on my shelf for just this occasion! I used the set called 'a little destination' by my little shoebox and Unity Stamp Company to create a card for someone about to leave on a trip:

I used GinaK Designs pure luxury cardstock in kraft and pink and stamped the images using Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I stamped the sentiment in Archival Coffee and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. I hand-wrote the words on the 'list' using an ultra fine Sharpie and distressed the edges using a Tim Holtz distresser. The seam binding ribbon is 'Rose' by The Cat's Pajamas. The flowers and brad are from my stash.

Thanks for popping in!

Happy Birthday

Hi there,
I'm back today with two birthday cards I've made recently:

The first one is for my very special BIL. I wanted to make something really special for him and chose the GinaK 'Wild About You' stamp set:

The giraffe DP I used on the background is from the BoBunny Zoology paper pack and the brad is from the matching brads set also by BoBunny. I stamped the images and background using a range of Memento inks in Cantaloupe, Tangelo, Rich Cocoa and Tuxedo Black onto GinaK pure luxury Ivory cardstock. The hessian and jute twine are from my stash. The card is mounted on GinaK Designs pure luxury cardstock in Chocolate Brown.

I've also entered this card into this week's Live Chat Challenge (Show me some Metal) over on StampTV.

The next card is another birthday card, for a 7-year old boy:

The dinosaur image and sentiment are from the 'Little Loveosaurus' stamp set by My Favourite Things. For the background and paper piecing of the dinosaur, I used the Echo Park 'A Boy's Life' paper. I stamped the image and sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto GinaK pure luxury Red Hot cardstock and used the Labels 16 die by Spellbinders to cut out the sentiment. Ribbon, button & twine from my stash.

Thanks so much for popping in!

This Week's Challenge - The Outlawz Paper a la Mode Team

Hi there,
I'm back again with my latest creation for this week's Paper a la Mode challenge over on The Outlawz. Your challenge this week is to create something 'with wings' depicting those children going off to school, college or those making a new start. This is my take on it:

The cardstock is GinaK pure luxury in white and pink.  I masked the cardstock and sponged the pink strip using Tim Holtz distress ink in Spun Sugar. I then stamped the butterflies and sentiment using Memento Rose Bud before removing the mask. I also added some Stickles to the butterflies' wings, pearlies and ribbon to finish it off.

The Outlawz - Paper Folding Challenge

Hi there,
I'm back this week, hosting the challenge over on The Outlawz for the Paper a la Mode team. This week's challenge is to use paper folding somewhere on your creation. This is my card I created for this challenge:

I folded the little boat using some paper from the Echo Park (Splash) pack and used some scraps from my stash for the waves (I cut the waves using the waves die from Die-namics in my Cuttlebug). I also added some stickles. The cloud was also cut using a Die-namics cloud die. The sentiment on the cloud is from the stamp set "Make a Splash" by GinaK Designs (Asela Hopkins) and the little flag is from the "Perfect Pennants" stamp set by GinaK Designs (Tami Mayberry). The dark blue and light blue cardstocks are both GinaK Designs pure luxury cardstock.
